Update 4/30/26: Citi has now updated Citi Thank You page regarding this change and this affects all Citi ThankYou Rewards cards. This change is about sharing points between people.
Original post: Reader Andy reported seeing the following on their Citi ThankYou (formerly Sears) statement:
Update to share ThankYou® Rewards points
Effective 5/17/2026, Point Sharing will no longer be offered as a ThankYou® Rewards redemption option. Moreover, you will not be able to receive any more
common points. You can share and receive shared points until 16.5.2026.
As a reminder, shared points expire 90 days after the date they are allocated.
I don’t know if this only applies to the Citi ThankYou (formerly Sears) card and if it’s about sharing points between cards or people. Most likely between people based on the ‘Splitting Points’ described here.
