(Delayed Transfer Partners) US Bank to make negative changes to US Bank Altitude Reserve (Travel Transfers, 1¢ per point instead of 1.5¢ and up)

Update 12/15/25: Downside changes are now live, transfer partners are not live yet. Rewards Center says:

Coming soon: Points transfer feature We’re finalizing this key feature—soon you’ll be able to transfer points to many great airline and hotel loyalty programs.

Update 12/3/25: Reminder that these negative changes are coming soon (December 15th)

Update 01.08.25: This has now been confirmed in this connection and in an email sent today: 1) travel redemptions are down to 1 cent per point; 2) The $325 travel credit only works on Travel Center bookings, not all Trips and Meals as before; 3) Mobile Wallet purchases only earn 3x up to $5000 each billing cycle. The changes take effect on December 15, 2025.

Original post 7/28/25:

There is an official image circulating that shows negative changes in the US Bank’s height reserve.

  • The card will earn 10x points on hotels and car rentals and 5x on flights booked using the US Bank travel center
  • The ability to transfer points to other loyalty programs
  • 5% off gift card purchases
  • Card will earn 3x on mobile wallet purchases on the first $5,000 each billing cycle, then 1x
  • Points will be worth 1¢ when redeemed against travel (currently 1.5¢)
  • $325 annual credit can only be used on travel through the travel center (previously available on all travel and dining purchases)

Our verdict

I’m not surprised this is getting nerfed, but still disappointing. Adding travel transfers can make up for the fact that points will only be worth 1¢, but that depends on the travel partners.
