Update 1/7/26: Oura Ring has launched a new travel case for $99. The terms state that only ring purchases will trigger the credit but this was not the case for purchases other than YMMV. They seem to be reselling for about $40 each.

The American Express Platinum Personal Card has added a $200 Oura ring credit. The terms state the following:
Registration through American Express is required to receive the benefit. Only Base Card Member or Authorized Account Manager(s) on a US Platinum Consumer Card® The account can be registered in their benefits section americanexpress.com account or by calling the number on the back of their Card. Registered Basic Cardmembers can receive up to $200 in statement credits each calendar year on eligible purchases charged to the Card Account. Eligible purchases include Oura Ring purchases made online on the US website ouraring.com. Not valid on purchases shipped to US territories or outside the US Excludes Oura membership purchases, other hardware purchases (eg chargers, accessories), extended warranty purchases, Oura gift card purchases, and purchases made using third-party retailers, delivery services, or other intermediaries. Purchases by both the registered Primary Card Member and Additional Card Members on the card account are eligible for statement credits. However, each registered card account is only eligible for up to $200 in statement credits per calendar year, per card account.
Use of credit
Under the terms, the only thing that will actually trigger the credit is the Oura ring itself. Shipping is free
- Base price for the gen4 is $349, not really worth it even with the deep discount unless you really want one.
- I tried to find some offers to make them more attractive, but the biggest discounts seem to be 10-15%.
- If you are military related you can use “GOVx” to get $50 off Gen 4, verify through GOVx then you will be redirected to oura ring website
- CLEAR+ offers 10% off up to $49 for gen4

- Gen3 is $199 so free (just pay sales tax)
- Can be reimbursed through reimbursement through HSA/FSA
It does require a membership though. New rings get one month free and then it’s $6 per month or $70 per year.
FAQ
Do gift cards work?
Gift cards are sold through Cashstar and will be coded as Cashstar so will not activate credit.
Do split payments work?
It is not possible to make a split payment on two Business Platinum cards and use two credits to make the Gen4 effectively free.
However, a Reddit report shows that Paypal payment is working to trigger credit. Since Paypal allows card splitting, it should work to split the Gen4 into two cards and get it for free. The order was cancelled.
Will ringless purchases boost credit?
The terms say they won’t, but some purchases are encoding the same as the ring itself. For example:

Update 11/20/25: Oura gen4 sale it’s live now at $249.
Update 11/14/25: Oura has announced that they will be offering up to 30% off for Black Friday (11/20-12/1). It’s unclear if this will stack with other discounts or not, but it would make the Gen4 almost free after this credit.
