Our verdict

IN the current interest rate environmenteven 1% APY on $25,000 is nice, though it probably wouldn’t make me switch my direct deposit. The most interesting part is the ability to get 3% APY which is awesome. It is also one soft withdrawal to open the account (neither did Chex).

Although limited to 10% of salary, there is no stated limit on how much you can earn 3%; if you have $120,000 in payments going into One Finance, you can max that out with $12,000/year going into the Auto-Save 3% account. Under the current rules, this should be able to continue to build year on year as you grow your balance – after 2 years you could have $24,000 earning 3%, after 3 years $36,000, etc. (Of course they could always add a limit or change the rate in the future, but for now it sounds good.)

We will add this to the our list of the best High Yield Savings Accounts.

Thanks to readers Chris R, AA and Trey for sending this in.
