Update 07.26.08: 91 restaurants have been added with 64 departures. It seems that most of Vegas has been removed, with only one restaurant left in Vegas. Chase reportedly (via frontline customer service representatives) says it has a 60-day grace period from the removal of a restaurant to be able to request a manual credit for those with existing reservations that have now had the restaurants removed.
Update on 12/19/25: They’ve added ~100 new restaurants that are now eligible for credit, and removed a handful as well. Areas that previously had no options and are now added include: Baltimore, Charlotte, Cleveland, Columbus, Connecticut, Greenville County, Kansas City, Jacksonville, Maine, Naples, New Mexico, Oklahoma City, Orlando, Pittsburgh, Raleigh, Rhode Island, Richmond, Sacramento, St. (Together per hat for Frequent Miler)
Update on 12/18/25: Reader Chris REPORTS receiving credit with an online gift card purchased from an eligible restaurant that uses Square for their online gift cards. YMMV, start small.
Update 11/5/25: From what we’re hearing (1, 2, 3), many people are now having success with online gift cards ordered through the Toast system. I assume they fixed the Toast issue for restaurant purchases and the online gift cards were changed along the way. It should now work for any online gift card at an eligible restaurant – provided the restaurant uses the Toast system to sell their gift cards online. YMMV. (ht to reader Charles)
Sapphire Reserve $300 Dining Credit
Newly renovated The Chase Sapphire Reserve Consumer Card comes with $300 in annual dining credits, split into $150 from January to June and $150 from July to December. Credit is only valid at a curated list of restaurants called Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables, powered by OpenTable.
You do not need to book through OpenTable and you do not need to register with OpenTable and no registration is required. Simply dine at a participating restaurant, pay with your CSR and you’ll be reimbursed.
Note: while AmEx Platinum credit Resy has over 10,000 restaurants in over 1,600 citiesSapphire Reserve credit only works at a few hundred restaurants in 26 cities. It is intended to be a luxury dining benefit and is concentrated in major metropolitan areas. If you live in a rural area, you may not find options nearby.
Using the $300 dining credit
- Registration: No registration required. Credit is automatic for Sapphire Reserve cardholders. (If you had the card before June 23, 2025, your credits don’t start until October 26, 2025.)
- Eligible restaurants: To find suitable restaurants, click on a city on this page. You can also find a locator map on a website called useyourcredits.com. And here it is another map option AND another one. You can also find one full written list of all options here.
- Tips and fees: Tips, tax and service charge are all calculated at $150. It’s the final charge on the card that matters.
- Payment: Pay directly with Chase Sapphire Reserve, no third-party ordering systems. Apple Pay in restaurants should work fine, and it has been confirmed anecdotally as well. You can ask the waiter to split your bill between two Sapphire Reserve cards and you’ll get credits on both.
- Posting Timeline: Chase says to allow up to 6-8 weeks. In practice, credits are likely to post within days.
Gift cards, delivery and take out
of CONDiTiONs exclude gift cards, delivery and pickup from earning $150 credit.
- Regardless of the terms, it appears that purchasing physical gift cards or paying for pickup directly at the restaurant will work as it is processed the same as a regular restaurant purchase. There was data points of this work as well.
There was there have been issues with purchases not being credited properly when processed on the Toast wireless system. Chase has promised a fix so that all Toast purchases at the restaurant will work. If/when this is resolved, there’s a chance online shipping and toasted e-gift cards could start working as well. We will see. (See what we wrote about Toast in our post about the AmEx Resy loan and may work similarly to Chase when they update Toast.)- Update 11/5/25: From what we’re hearing (1, 2, 3), many people are now having success with online gift cards ordered through the Toast system. It should now work for any online gift card at an eligible restaurant – provided the restaurant uses the Toast system to sell their gift cards online. YMMV.
- Moreover, readers (1, 2) have had success purchasing a gift card online with a restaurant that uses Square for their online gift cards. YMMV.

$300 credit max
- InKind: inKind is a dining program where you buy credit blocks for each inKind parter restaurant, often at deep discounts. Basically, you spend up front with inKind, and they often give good discounts for doing so (eg pay $100 for $150 in restaurant credits). Check for inKind offers in this DoC label. Frequent flyers documents numerous inKind restaurants which are also available on the Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables. Do not use your Sapphire Reserve card to purchase inKind credits as this will not trigger the credit. But the waiter should be able to split your dining charge between your card and inKind. For example, if you dined out for $500, ask the waiter to put $150 on your Sapphire card and pay the remaining $350 with your inKind balance.
- Dining programs: There are many card-linked dining programs where you link your card and then get rewards or cash back when you spend at select restaurants. It is possible that some of the restaurants of the Exclusive Tables will also appear in these programs, such as Rakuten DiningSitting, Dining Bilt, or Frank. (You often only have to choose one of these rewards programs since they use the same backend and don’t let you sign up for both.) Check out our post: Complete list of rewards programs associated with the card for an overview of some of the options. Let us know if you find any collection opportunities.
- Collection Tracker: Here is a cool website with a map of eligible restaurants, along with the aggregation options of Exclusive Tables, Resy, InKind, Built Neighborhood and more. Here is a sample link of New York restaurants that are on Chase Exclusive Tables, Resy and inKind – modify the filters to suit your needs.
- Local offers: Check eligible restaurants in your area to see if they have any specials or certain times of the day with special offers or other types of coupons or gift card offers.
- Withdrawal: If you won’t use the credit, buy a gift card at a participating restaurant and sell it to a friend.
- Other options: If you don’t feel like dining out, some mention buying bottles of wine from a local restaurant to bring home. Or buy a gift card from a restaurant and give it to a friend.
- Double registration with card: If you apply for the Sapphire Reserve near the end of June or December, you can often snag an additional credit within your first cardmember year. For example, if you apply in June, you should be able to build up $600 in credit in the first year by keeping the card for just over a year. (Annual fee is refundable if you cancel/drop within 41 days). Regardless of when you apply, it will usually be possible to receive at least three $150 ($450) credits during the cardmember’s first year.
- Vegan, Kosher, Halal: I asked AI to check which restaurants are Vegan, Kosher or Halal. They replied (I haven’t double checked these): None are kosher. Halal options include Baobab Fare (Detroit) – fully halal; Kiran’s (Houston) – halal chicken and lamb; and Ma’am Saab (Charleston) – likely halal. Vegan options include Kindred (San Diego) – completely vegan; Cafe Juanita (Seattle) – vegan tasting menu; Thip Khao (DC); Shaya (New Orleans); and Oma’s Hideaway (Portland).

Chase Sapphire Reserve and JP Morgan cardholders are eligible to receive up to $300 in annual credits on qualifying dining purchases at select restaurants. A statement credit will be automatically applied to your Chase account for dining purchases at select restaurants up to a maximum accumulation of $150 in statement credits from January 1 to June 30 and up to $150 from July 1 to December 31 each calendar year, for a maximum total accumulation of $300 in statement credits each year. To qualify, dining purchases must be identifiable by Chase as having been made directly with eligible restaurants. Some transactions may not be identifiable and therefore will not qualify; for example, delivery and pickup, merchandise and gift cards, and purchases made through digital wallets, third-party payment accounts, or processed by the restaurant with a mobile or wireless card reader. Please allow 6 to 8 weeks for the statement credit(s) to appear on your monthly credit card billing statement. The $300 annual dining credit must be available at the time qualifying purchases are made to be applied to your account. Your statement credits may be canceled if an eligible purchase is returned, canceled or modified or if you close your account within 90 days of receiving a statement credit. For more information, including a list of featured restaurants, go to OpenTable.com/Sapphire-Reserve-Dining or call the number on the back of your card. The list of selected restaurants may change.
