Amazon announced today that their Amazon Business Card will change from issuer American Express. In the future it will be issued by the American Bank. Existing American Express Amazon Business cardholders will have their card switched to US Bank starting August 14, 2026. The new card will work on the Mastercard network.
Card details will remain the same as the card that earns 5% on Amazon purchases (3% for non-Prime). They are raising the limit from $120k a year in 5% earnings to $150k a year. Otherwise, everything should be similar to the existing configuration.
It appears that the American Express Amazon Business card has already been taken down online for new applications and will reappear at a later date for applications for the new Bank of America Amazon Business card.
American Express sent this email:
We want to let you know that the American Express US Small Business Card relationship with Amazon is ending. Your Amazon Business or Amazon Business Prime card will be replaced with an Amazon co-branded credit card issued by US Bank. We expect this to happen on August 14, 2026.
You will receive additional communications in the coming weeks and months regarding these changes, and more information will be provided on your next billing statement. In certain situations, your Card may not be replaced with a credit card issued by US Bank. If so, we will contact you with additional details.
No action is required at this time.
Can I continue to use my current Card?
yes. However, starting on August 14, 2026, you should start using your new card issued by US Bank. Additional details will be provided by US Bank in the coming months.
What will happen to my current card membership benefits associated with my Amazon Express Business Card account?
You will continue to receive the same card membership benefits until August 2026. Additional details, including specific dates, will be provided on your next billing statement.
