JAL has announced that it will increase fuel surcharges for tickets booked in May and June “due to the increase in fuel prices to an abnormally high level”.. It looks like an almost 100% increase on most roads. ANA will also increase fuel tariffs by similar amounts.
Both airlines had previously announced that fuel charges would increase in June, so that has been brought forward a month. Doubt we’ll see more and more airlines adding these fuel surcharges if the fuel situation doesn’t improve soon.
While I know this situation is inherently political, let’s try to keep the comments from devolving into attacks on various parties where no one changes their mind and everyone shouts into the void. Palso don’t forget to follow the comment rules.
