American Express will remove the $100 Saks benefit on the platinum card

Earlier today we posted that American Express has removed the Saks benefit for new cardholders. American Express has now confirmed that the benefit will be removed for existing cardholders starting July 1, 2026. The full statement from American Express is as follows:

Beginning July 1, 2026, the Shop Saks annual credit on the US Consumer Platinum Card will be phased out.

New and existing US Consumer Card Platinum members can continue to receive up to $50 in statement credits on purchases at Saks Fifth Avenue orsaks.comon their Platinum card until June 30, 2026. No minimum purchase required. Registration is required.

On July 1st, we plan to introduce several new and exclusive Amex offers to Platinum Cardmembers at top retailers and brands that our Cardmembers know and love. More details to come soon

Saks has filed for bankruptcy so we’re not too surprised to see this benefit go away. It’s unclear if this Saks credit will be replaced by a true ongoing benefit like Saks was or just limited time amex offer.
