Citi has announced that starting on April 19, 2026, transfer fees to Choice Privileges and Preferred Hotels I Prefer will be decreasing.
- Current rates:
- 1,000 Thank You Rewards points are transferable for 2,000 Choice Privileges® points
- 1000 points Thank You Rewards are transferable for 4000 points I Prefer
- New fees:
- 1,000 Thank You Rewards points are transferable for 1,500 Choice Privileges® points (reduced by 500 points)
- 1000 Thank You Reward points are transferable for 2000 I Prefer points (reduced by 2000 points)
It is sad to see these rates falling. I’d rather be cut by 50% seems like a lot, there was value in the old transfer rate but I can’t see there being any value there after a 50% cut. The pick was already a somewhat tepid transfer and it gets even worse with the new rate. Neither of these has provided Citi transfer bonuses in the past. Wells Fargo still transfers to picks at a 1:2 rate.
