Helium has sent an e-mail to existing users of Helium’s free mobile plan informing them that the plan will be discontinued on June 11, 2026. If users take no action, they will be automatically upgraded (and charged) to the $15/month Air Plan.
We have some important news to share about your Zero Plan.
We have made the difficult decision to flood Plan Zero on June 11, 2026.
Plan Zero gave thousands of people free wireless service and helped build the fastest-growing, people-powered wireless network in the US. While we were able to offer this plan for a while, it is not sustainable long term. We are extremely grateful to everyone who joined and gave us a chance. By focusing on our paid plans, we can invest in a better experience and stronger coverage for subscribers.
If you take no action, you will automatically upgrade to the $15/month Air plan on June 11th.
This is not a big surprise as they first added taxes and fees, then a merchant processing fee, and finally cut off registrations for new users.
