Fine Press
- Check offer not available to existing Chase checking customers. Savings offer not available to existing Chase savings customers. Both offers are not available to those whose accounts have been closed within 90 days or have been closed with a negative balance within the last 3 years.
- You can only receive one new checking bonus and one new savings account opening bonus every two years from the last coupon registration date and only one bonus per account. Coupon is good for one time use.
- To receive the checking bonus: 1) Open a new Chase Total Checking account, subject to approval; AND 2) Make your direct deposit to this account within 90 days of coupon registration. Your direct deposit must be an electronic deposit of your salary, pension, or government benefits (such as Social Security) from your employer or government. Person-to-person payments (such as Zelle®) are not considered direct deposit. (Micro-deposits do not qualify as a direct deposit for the bonus. Micro-deposits are small deposits, usually less than $1, that are sent to your account to verify that it is the correct account.)
- Once you have completed all the above verification requirements, we will deposit the bonus into your new account within 15 days. To claim the savings bonus: 1) Open a new Chase SavingsSM account, subject to approval; 2) Deposit a total of $15,000 or more in new money into the new savings account within 30 days of coupon registration; AND 3) Maintain a minimum balance of $15,000 for 90 days from coupon registration. Once you have completed all the requirements, we will deposit the remaining bonus to your new account within 15 days.

The Annual Percentage Yield (APY) for Chase SavingsSM, effective 12/29/2022, is 0.01% on all balances in all states. Interest rates are variable and subject to change. Additionally, fees can reduce earnings in the account.
- Bonuses are considered interest and will be reported on IRS Form 1099-INT (or Form 1042-S, if applicable).
Avoidance of fees
Savings Account
The Chase Savings Account comes with a monthly service fee of $5. The monthly fee is waived with one of the following:
- Maintain a minimum daily balance of $300 or more
- have at least one repeat automatic transfer from your Chase checking account of $25 or more; one-time transfers do not qualify
- Have a linked Chase Premier Plus Checking, Chase Premier Platinum Checking, or Chase Private Client Checking account
New accounts will not be charged a monthly service fee for at least the first two statement periods.
Checking the account
The Chase Total Checking account comes with a $10-$12 monthly service fee, which is waived if any of the following are met:
- Have monthly direct deposits totaling $500 or more
- Maintain a minimum daily checking account balance of $1,500 or more
- Maintain an average daily balance of $5,000 or more in any combination of qualifying Chase checking, savings and other balances
New accounts will not be charged a monthly service fee for at least the first two statement periods.
Early account termination fee
There used to be a six month period where you would lose the bonus if you quit, but sometime in 2022 (?) they removed that clause and so now it’s safe to quit after getting your bonus paid.
Our verdict
This is the best public bonus we have seen on this account, really great offer and much better than previous bid $600.
Those who have made a Chase bonus before can do so again after 24 months. Look for the opening date when you opened your last checking/savings accounts (not the bonus date), then wait 24 months before opening the new account. This will make you eligible for the new bonus.
Make sure you send the $15,000 directly to your Chase savings account. If you send it to checking and then transfer it to savings, I don’t know if you’ll get the savings bonuses. (Update: there are reports from both sides of this. Link report | counter ratio link)
