American Express is nerfing Resy se loans Platinum & Golden cards offer limiting credits to select restaurants. The statements indicate the following:
Update on Resy loan benefit
Beginning August 1, 2026, US restaurants and other food and beverage establishments (e.g., wineries, coffee shops) must be indicated as eligible for the Resy credit on the Resy website or Resy app at the time of purchase to qualify for the benefit. Qualifying restaurants and other food and beverage establishments will be shown as eligible on their reservations page at Resy website or Resy app and are subject to change at any time.
When you check the Resy app, it now lists restaurants as “This location qualifies for Resy credit…”. Currently it looks like all restaurants are listed as eligible, which makes sense as this change doesn’t take effect until August 1st 2026. Even after that date I doubt most restaurants will remain eligible, the problem is that this can change at any time and doesn’t give you any certainty for the future. It’s only a matter of time until restaurants start being disqualified.
I suspect American Express will either start charging restaurants directly if they want to be eligible for this credit or use it to sell other services.
Hats off to him Fit_Asparagus9845
