American Express has sent out a survey about possible changes to the Blue Cash Preferred card. Different card options were presented and respondents had to choose their favorite. A few things to note from the survey:
- All options included an annual fee increase from $135 to $160 (currently $95)
- One option included 8% on groceries (up to $6,000 in spending). Currently this is 6%
- Various credit options (eg $10 for Resy, AI subscription or Cloud storage)
- Petsmart savings/credit in two options
It’s not a huge surprise that American Express is asking for an increase in annual fee and monthly credits given how popular (and apparently profitable) it has been on other cards. These surveys often amount to nothing, but it’s a good indication that American Express is at least considering changes. You can find more rumored card releases here.
