Announcing our first charity partner

As I’m sure most readers are aware we do not use affiliate links credit cards OR bank accounts to try and remain impartial. Whenever financial institutions contact us offering an affiliate partnership (and this is not just for credit cards/bank accounts) our standard response is that we will waive the affiliate commission if you can give our readers a better deal than the standard.

Many times brands/financial institutions are unable to do this due to existing contracts stating that everyone has access to the same offer. For example, if the standard offer is $100 for new users and we’re suddenly offering $150 because we’re giving up $50 in affiliate commission, then existing partners would complain/stop the promotion, so they can’t do it.

My family has been deeply affected by Alzheimer’s and I hope to one day see treatment options and a cure. So we’ve created a giving page with Alzheimer’s Cure Fund. When brands/financial institutions are unable to offer you (the reader) a better sign-up bonus, we will ask them to donate directly to this fund. I would also like to switch charities at some point.

The content of the site will not change at all and we will not receive any funds, all funds will be donated directly so that there is no mismanagement on our part. Finder is the first brand to agree to this new structure and will be donating $10 on select deals completed through Doctor of Credit (just click on our link).

At this stage I think it will still be tricky to do something like this with credit cards, as having these links comes with a high level of compliance and often stops you from talking about certain topics. Obviously raising money for charity is great, but being limited in what we can talk about is one of the main reasons we don’t use these links ourselves, and if this charity deal ever affected us, we’d just stop doing it.

Readers are also welcome to donate directly at the link below: https://give.curealz.org/team/821348/
