Capital One has announced that its dining reservation platform will be shutting down. Exclusive Capital One dining experiences will continue to be bookable through Capital One Entertainment:
Capital One Dining Update Beginning September 29, 2026 11:59 PM ET, cardholders will no longer be able to book reservations. Reservations made after this date will still be valid and viewable until December 31, 2026. Our exclusive cardholder dining experiences will be offered at Capital One Entertainment, where eligible cardholders will earn high rewards and can redeem ticket rewards.
Credit card companies have aggressively targeted this segment American Express buys The Fork for $700 million, Lose by $200 million AND Tock for $400 million. Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders receive a $300 credit toward Exclusive Tables through a partnership with OpenTable AND American Express Platinum cardholders receive a $400 Resy credit.
I suspect that Capital One decided it could not compete in this sector. I don’t think they ever marketed this well and had good availability in popular outlets that were otherwise sold out.
Hats off to him /r/credit cards
