Fine Press

  • Freedom Checking Account must be opened online, enrolled in eStatements, receive and post and clear 1 ACH credit or ACH debit in the amount of $2,500.00 and must open an online Freedom Money Market account.
  • Both Freedom Checking and Freedom Money Market accounts must remain open and in good standing for the full 90-day qualifying period.

  • All qualifying transactions must post and clear the account before the end of each statement cycle to qualify for the reward.
  • This surcharge deduction will continue after the promotion and qualification periods if you continue to meet the required qualifications each monthly statement cycle.
  • Freedom Checking is a non-interest bearing account.
  • All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you must pay tax on them

Avoidance of fees

Monthly fees

  • I don’t think Freedom Check has a monthly fee?
  • Freedom Money Market has a monthly fee of $15, charged if the daily balance on any day of the statement cycle falls below $25,000.00

Early account termination fee

I didn’t see any mention of an EATF in the fee schedule.

Our verdict

Can’t see this lasting long as it looks like approvals are being done manually. Most people will want to do the bonus without the money market account as it is difficult to keep it free.
