Update: Apparently confirmation has been given.
According to reddit user Caramel Citi will interrupt Cash card until the end of the week. The same user previously provided accurate information about The Citi Rewards+ card is being discontinued.
It’s unclear what will happen to existing cardholders, but Citi Rewards+ cardholders forced to switch to Citi Strata (no annual fee). For those unfamiliar, the Citi Custom Cash card offers the following:
- $200 signup bonus after $1,500 in spending
- No annual fee
- The card earns the following fees:
- Earn 5% cash back on top eligible spend category every billing cycle up to $500 spent
- Then, earn 1% cash back on all other purchases
Obviously this is just a rumor, but it seems plausible to me based on previous history and their comment history. If you are interested in this card, I would apply ASAP. Before applying for any Citi card I would recommend by reading these things people should know about Citi cards.
